Registration holds are placed on student records if a student fails to complete Northeastern University’s immunization documentation requirements. The Northeastern University Health Report was due before the start of classes for the fall 2024 semester. All students who entered the university in or after fall 2024 must upload their vaccination documentation to Sentry MD to comply with Massachusetts and California laws. I have a hold on my account, and I don’t know why.
Our records indicate that you have not yet completed the immunization documentation requirements for Northeastern University by submitting all necessary information to Sentry MD. You were first notified of these requirements in May 2024. Since then, Sentry MD has sent you multiple emails regarding your non-compliant status. Please refer to the emails Sentry MD sent you on Monday, February 24, 2025, and Tuesday, March 4, 2025, which detail your outstanding requirements.
To lift the hold on your account, you must obtain any missing immunizations, including the Tuberculosis Risk Assessment form, and upload your complete University Health Report to Sentry MD as soon as possible.
Once you have submitted the updated documentation, University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS) will remove the hold after Sentry MD reviews your information and verifies that all requirements have been met. Please allow up to two business days for the hold to be lifted after Sentry MD confirms your compliance.

Please note that Sentry MD’s review process may take up to two business days. Once Sentry MD verifies your compliance, they will notify UHCS, which will then remove the hold.
Please allow an additional two business days for the hold to be lifted after all documentation has been received. In total, from the time you submit your complete immunization record to Sentry MD, it may take up to four business days for the hold to be removed.
Can I get an extension?
Extensions are not available, as the original deadline was July 31, 2024.

I need a vaccine, where can I get one?
Vaccines are available through your Primary Care Provider or local pharmacy. Students on the Boston campus can also visit convenient on-campus vaccination clinics. These clinics will offer all required and recommended vaccines, including COVID and flu. Students can learn more about upcoming vaccine clinics here.
Students in Oakland can access vaccines through One Medical’s On-Campus Clinic.

I need to register; how quickly can my hold be lifted?
Holds on your account will be removed once you meet the immunization requirements and complete the TB screening. All updated information must be uploaded to Sentry MD.
UHCS will lift the hold on your account after Sentry MD reviews your updated documentation and confirms that all requirements have been satisfied. Please note that Sentry MD’s review process may take up to two business days. Once Sentry MD verifies your compliance, they will notify UHCS, which will then remove the hold.

I was vaccinated but I can’t find the record? (My doctor is no longer practicing. Etc.)
If you do not have access to your immunization records, we recommend contacting your current medical provider to request a blood test called an antibody titer. This test will show whether you are already immune to measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and Hepatitis B. Additionally, you will need to get a tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis (Tdap) booster. The antibody titer tests can drawn at UHCS; please refer to the related fee schedule for details.
What do I do if I can’t provide proof that I am vaccinated?
All incoming students are expected to meet the immunization requirements prior to arriving to campus. If you do not have access to your immunization records, you may have a blood test called antibody titer that shows whether you are already immune to measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and Hepatitis B. My doctor says I only need one measles immunization, is this true?
No. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health requires proof of two measles immunizations, both administered after January 1, 1968, at least one month apart, and after your first birthday.
